Default Locked keys in car!

So a friend of mine in Toronto who also has an S2K told me he locked his keys in car...thankfully, it wasn't running. Unfortunately, the spare key was in the house and of course, the house key was attached with the car key locked in the car.

Anyhow, he called a lock company and they arrived shortly. He was thinking he would be there for awhile as he assumed opening a locked S2K isn't childs play...apparently, it is.

The lock rep simply opened up some sort of manual of all makes and models and went to the Honda section and found the diagram of how to unlock an S2K. After studying the diagram for about 2 mins, my friend says the guy simply pried the window just a tad bit...put in a coat hanger looking type of device and simply hooked on to the lock and pulled it....presto, the car was unlock without any damage whatsoever and with such ease! It took him literally less then a minute to do. This was also the first S2K the lock rep had actually worked with.

Anyhow, just thought I'd share...I never knew it was so easy to get into an S2K!

Hehehhe, when I read the thread title, I thought you were gonna ask for advice on how to get the car open. What the lock guy did was the first thing that popped into my head.

Any car that has frameless side windows is a snap to get into with a coat hanger. I've used that exact same technique to get into my 240SX countless times. I set up the alarm on that damn car to arm itself after 30 seconds if all the doors are closed and the car isn't running. That includes automatically locking the doors. Sometimes it's a handy feature, sometimes it's the scourge of the earth.

Chris.

What the "lock" guy had was most likely a "Sulley Kit". This is standard equipment on all Calgary Fire Dept. Emergency Rescue Units. This kit is only for sale to recognised emergency services, locksmiths and roadside assistance companies. And yes, basically, a coat hanger is all you need to get into an S2000.

Exactly! Hehe, I supposed it's easy enough to "say" you are a towing company and buy one. The most important part of that kit is the manual that comes with it. It goes through car by car, year by year on how to unlock them.

I have used a "double dipper" to get a small child out of a locked car when it was -35*C outside. All this thing does is to go down and under the bottom of the side glass window, then back up the inside, then back down the interior face of the door panel, the back up to lift up on the lock button (or push down on the power door lock button). BTW, it was so cold that in the process of getting that little bugger (the tool that is ) snapped in two. The replacement cost something goofy like 80 bucks.
