Default In the market for 06-07 S2K

I'm looking to pick up a stock (well, maybe a couple of tasteful mods) 06-07 one-owner*, low mileage S2000.

A little background: I owned an 01 NFR that I sold in 2006...had an 04 M3 that I drove from then until a few months ago when I packed up and moved to Mexico for six months. Over the last couple of years I've had my eye peeled for a 100% stock, one owner low miles AP1, but never found a car that met my criteria that wasn't stupidly overpriced. So I'm now looking for an 06-07 AP2 that is stock, one owner*, exceptionally well cared for (and documented). Not terribly fussy about color: it's the condition of the car that matters most.

I've bought numerous cars in the States over the years, and am well versed in the differences in pricing of S2Ks between there and here. As easy as bringing cars across the border is, it's a PITA shopping, getting PPIs done remotely etc. I'd actually prefer buying a local car...if it meets my condition and maintenance requirements and the price reflects a reasonable premium over buying in the States. (Reasonable in my book would be the cost of an equivalent U.S. car, plus airfare, plus travel expenses, plus 6.1% duty, plus 5% GST, plus RIV fees...plus some additional premium to be discussed/negotiated with potential seller.)

I'd also consider a two-owner car (see * below) that has been brought up from the States. I'm OK with the car being out of warranty (if I buy a Canadian car it would be a bonus if it had an extended OEM warranty, but aftermarket warranties don't do anything for me).

I have cash in hand, but I'm not in any kind of rush. I'll be back in Canada for a couple of weeks in September but not back full-time until October. I'd be using my son who lives in Calgary to broker any local purchase that happens while I'm still in Mexico.

If anyone knows of a car for sale (or soon to be for sale) that they think might fit the bill, they can PM me here or email me directly at gcurnew@me.com.

Thanks

(*I'd consider a two-owner car that has spent the majority of its life with one owner, i.e. a 25,000km car that was bought from the first owner with less than 5,000 km on it.)

Thanks...but too many owners, and while coilovers and brakes/BBK are nice on a track car, it's significantly further from "stock" than I'm looking for.
I can make it stock if you want.

A "stock" car is like a virgin...once you've lost the status, there's no going back ;-) Anyway, I've bought a car...I pick it up in a few days.

Got the S2K on Friday...put over 1,000 km on it meandering my way back from B.C. It's an 07 Rio Yellow, purchased from an S2Ki member. The car is an exceptionally well cared for example...aside from a few stone chips in the windshield, it's as close to perfect as a 3-year-old car could reasonably be. Pretty happy with the purchase...
