I do like the simple unobtrusive look of the original S2000 rear spoiler. A nice, clean, simple design.
To be fair Porsche offers a fixed wing option on most all of their 911's, at an additional cost.

Xviper, You are absolutely correct. Any modification you do to your car is a personal notion you do for no one but yourself. It's like wheels, always a personal and suggestive subject. I mean no harm in my opinions. Koala, the fixed rear spoiler for the 996 was part of the no longer available aero package and was similiar to the not for NA 01' GT3's rear wing. There are very few 996's in this city with this option as it was very costly, the GT2 and GT3 are the only two 996 models to have fixed wings, again they serve one purpose, keeping the car planted at high speeds ( they are both capable of 190+ MPH ).

Luckily the S2000 can't go that fast, so its not a concern, and we just go for looks

Congrats dude! Looks like delivery is a few weeks early, nothing wrong with that

I think I'll be without a convertible this summer, I'm still undecided. It'll be extremely tempting if I see 00-01 S2K's fall below $30K. I've fallen in love with the redesigned SLK, just waiting to see what MSRP is and its actual release date.

Update: No hardtop for me (for now). 4-5 month wait... so I'll probably just order one from hardtopguy in a few months when I have the cash.

My uncle (whom owns a Z3), had an SLK when they first came out. He got rid of it within 2 weeks. He claimed it was much too boring to drive. Hopefully the new ones are going to be a bit better (but I doubt it).

I've driven the 230/320 and 32AMG

230 is crap
320 is nice and torquey, very smooth and refined but not as spirited as the S though.

The 32AMG The monsterous amount of torque available on the tap of the gas pedal, what can I say except having a big grin on my face hehe

These weren't my cars so of course I won't be pushing them to the limits

I'd love an SLK AMG except for the price. And doesn't it only come in an automatic? ...........................
I'm thinking the new one (the one that is a look alike to the SLR) is going to be close to 90 THOU ---- more than I will ever pay for another car in the rest of my lifetime. PLUS, considering that one can get an '04 Vette in the States for $40,000.00 US. They are heavily discounted from Kerbeck Chev. They were blowing 'em out the door a week ago for as low as $37,000.00 and one Z06 went for around $42,000.00.
Bloody Shaganappi Chev has them on for $69,000.00 Can. That is what I call
