Default New Honda Element

I was down at T&T and they had about 5 new Honda Elements straight from Ont. First off, the styling is different but that is a neat car. If I had $24K in change to spend I'd get that for a daily commuter. It is very versatile with fittings and functions that make it really easy to haul things like say parts for your S

good job Honda, hopefully it catches on. On to pickup trucks now for the big read machine.

Sorry to disagree, but I saw one on the road yesterday and my first thought was "about as ugly as a Pontiac Aztec". If I had $24K in change, I'd sell my S and buy a convertible Corvette or an M3.

I'd have to disagree also... very versatile vehicle but I don't know what they were thinking when the designed the exterior.

Quite "odd" looking.

the design is targeted to early 20s people who have an active lifestyle and subscribe to the California beach mentality

That explains it. They missed me by about 20 years.

I like the Element personally. I think it is a great, suitable vehicle for the intended target market. Yes it's quirky, but the wipe clean interior, flat floor and lack of b-pillar make it great for people who haul cargo/dogs/skis and other junk. As for the exterior styling, I'm a big fan of it given the recent trend towards soft, egg-like designs being pumped out by manufacturers nowadays. Would I buy it? I dunno....I do like a little more luxury....carpet would be nice. I think I'd sway more towards the AWD Matrix if I had the need for bad weather traction.

Wait, if I had another 24K I would get a ///M3 too but with the E46 M3 engine still plagued with blow ups, I don't know. If I ever get a Beems, there is no way in hell I would get it in town. I rather drive to Vancouver or Edmonton to get one. The local Beems dealers will never see a penny from me that is for sure.

Wouldn't wanna buy a Bimmer from the snobs here in E-town...

BTW, has anyone seen the E concept that Honda displayed at the Detroit Auto Show? The black Element "panel van" with flames and 19" wheels? It's actually pretty cool looking! Made me decide that the Element could be something other than ugly if handled right!

Too bad you can't get it with 4WD and manual tranny.
