Default Noob Introduction

Per HondaGal's suggestion - a new thread to introduce my new toy (and me).

Happily parked in my garage is a MY04 S2000 that is 1 day less than two weeks old. Silverstone (theeeeeee fastest colour, or so I hear), with the black & red interior. Had the dealer put on the side strakes and the rear trunk spoiler (the small one). Skipped the front spoiler because of limited ground clearance going into my driveway (see thread here looking for exact clearance data :

http://forums.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.p...threadid=195627

(down near the bottom). Since deliver, I've installed Rick's full height windscreen & the Voodoo Titanium shifter nob.

As for the driver - I'm hoping to be an unofficial member of you lot. Despite my current address, I am a Canuk - as is the boss that finally agreed to purchase of the above-referenced toy. We've been moved around a bit by the company that is nice enough to deposit money into our bank accounts every other week. Both the boss and I work for Shell - originally in Calgary, followed by 5 years in The Netherlands, and now here in Houston since Jan of 2000.

One of these days, and one of these transfers, we'll hopefully end up back in Calgary (or at least somewhere in Canada). In the meantime, we're having a great time discovering the places where we've been posted.

Back to the car - still not finished with the break-in period - but loving every second of my time in it. Can hardly imagine how much better it gets when you can actually get past that 5k RPM limit........

Welcome remote-Prairie Redliner. Silverstone is such a striking colour, and nicely accentuates the crisper lines of the '04. Indeed, if you ever make it back to Calgary, you will certainly have one of the more rare models up here.

Till then, enjoy the Texan sun, and look forward to the enticing 600 mile mark.

Regards
Asif

Are you in Wood Creek or downtown? Upstream or downstream....I may know you...I worked at Shell Canada (Exploration) from 1989-96.

doodlebug - currently at Deer Park Refinery, there since June of 2002. Prior to that I was at Westhollow for 2 and a half years.

In Shell Canada I was in the E&C organization, we serviced both upstream & downstream, though not much contact with the exploration folks. Was located downtown and at Calgary Research Center. Lots of time spent at Jumping Pound, Waterton, Caroline, Burt Timber, and "see if you remember this one) Bearberry.

xviper - you've got a deah - eh?

Still many, many good friends back there, sure to be a trip in the next year or so. Playing with the idea of making it a road trip......

And I notice from a recent post that my P-R badge is now there - THANKS A BUNCH for accepting me as a remote-redliner.
