"Down there" meaning Calgary? I've seen them go for as low as $30.00/month for a dump (bad neighborhood, poorly built, old garage) to as high as $100.00 for the "ritz" (nice neighborhood, heated, power, secure).

I have a condo in a "nicer" newer neighborhood in the NW. Since I'm not living there yet, I'm renting an underground parking stall out to someone for $70/month.

Were you interested in renting a place to park, or a place to live as well?

Sometimes renting a parking spot out in a condo to someone other than a resident/tennant is against the condo bylaws. In my buildng we have about 3-4 extra empty spots. Due to the bylaws in place we cannot rent them out to anyone else other than someone in the building. Also, after looking a numerous new condos lately this policy seems to be the norm.

It's almost a catch 22. Some people are looking for a nice place to rent space that is secure and a place they know their car won't get damaged. While on the other side, the people in the condo don't want strangers (and their cars) in the building because they are afraid of the security of their own vehicles.

Anyway, here's another option for you just south of the city...

There are opportunities down in Calgary with the previous firm I was with. I used to work with this person here in edmonton but he transferred down to the calgary office a year ago. Had a talk with him yesterday and he asked me if i'm seriously interested (he's doing all the hiring and interviewing!).

So which means relocating down to Calgary. I don't want to be rotting on the side of the streets So have to find a decent and affordable place to live. Obviously a garage is something I'd like for the car but you know, if i do move, my car won't be making its way into calgary until late spring anyhow.

Technically, you are coming "UP" to Calgary as we are at a slightly higher elevation that Edmonchuck.
Well, if you do come here, it'll be a shorter drive to the Run o' the Hat.

seks... since I'm moving to Red Deer on April 1st (may 1st at the latest), my roommate will be looking for someone to move in.

We live in one of the safest neighbourhoods in the city (Panorama Hills, NW). the house is about 2 years old, 3 bedroom, 2.5 baths, 2-car garage. however, I park on the driveway because half the garage contains bikes and car tires

I've never once felt nervous parking my car outside here. I've even left the doors unlocked a few times (get side tracked and forget to lock them for whatever reason).

Just figured this *might* be a good option for ya.
