Default rear tires

So when I met up with blacks2000 a little more than a week ago in Victoria, he mentioned that Tirerack.com is where he got his from and it's the best price. Currently, I see that it is listed for $172 USD/each plus ship.

Any other source?

I got my first set of rear tires from tunerworks way back in early '03. Their price was very reasonable.

Dave had a good source in Calgary too, I'm sure he'll come in and mention it.

I'd only buy from tirerack if buying all 4... the shipping/duty costs on just one pair don't really seem to make it worth while.

Blaskin & Lane are selling them for about $350.00 per tire now. Not a real good deal anymore. Depending on the shipping and brokerage, that $172.00 US sounds pretty good to me. Wouldn't hurt to get a quote from Bobby (Tuner 4) anyway. He might surprise you.

So I had already recieved my brand new 2 rear tires and had them installed the same day before I met up with Calvin. When they came to my door from TireRack,
the only amount that I had to pay was with them which converted over to CAD was a total of $482.16. I did not have to pay any extra fees.

As it stands... $482.16 CAD for 2 OEM SO2's shipped to your door. Fantastic deal! Most places want $330 CAD each plus taxes.

As it stands right now, I am still a little bit skeptical about your situation of not having to pay for brokerage, taxes, duties, and customs You mentioned that you didn't know who the courier company was that shipped your tires.

I know from past experiences, I had stuff shipped by Fed Ex and the extra bill comes by mail a week or two later.

Fedex will send a bill later on (always do). It'll probably be for about $80

Did this include GST and your provincial sales tax? I'm sure the brokerage fee is on its way. Many times, the GST and other sales tax is paid by the brokerage company, in this case, the shipping company and will be added onto the bill for the brokerage.
If you don't see anything in the mail, then indeed, this was a great deal.

I'll let you know if I get an extra bill. Either way even if I have to pay an extra $100 in fees, it's still way cheaper than buying local. I guess I should be adding on the extra cost for me to mount and balance those tires which was $40 with new valves.

I believe 2 new rear SO2's installed locally would have cost me around $760 CAD.
