Default Rick's has a new header

Would anyone else local be interested in the new rick's header? $625 is the price for the introductory group buy. Maybe we can get a couple together to save on shipping.

This thing is incredible. You can still mount the stock heat shield, and it weighs in at 12.8 lbs.

I am interested Dylan. Let me know if you are going to take the plunge. Looks like a very nice piece and much, much cheaper than the Mugen I lust for.

Yes, it does look like a nice piece and the bonus being you can put the heat shields back on. I would have prefered something like this over the Toda I got for megabucks and then spending more money on the CF vented hood just to get the heat out of the engine bay.
Just don't forget you'll need a new header "donut" and "header to head" gasket to go with that.

Will the header do anything?

Intrested in a GB but need expected gains / dyno graphs for a MY04 to seal the deal.

You're purchase won't help with cutting cost of shipping to Calgary. That was the whole idea for the original enquiry - to amalgamate multiple header packaging to save on shipping.

It was a couple to a "few" HP for pre-'04. Not a real significant gain, but the weight savings is quite dramatic. I'm not sure if this alone is worth nearly a thousand Cannuck bucks, though. On the one hand, you do keep the heat shields but on the other, it's a shame to hide such a good looking piece.
You won't get much in gains unless you are "blown". It might change the sounds slightly at certain rpm ranges just from the construction of the unit.

The only thing holding me back right now is that my credit cards have been taking a huge beating the last few months. This is the first month in history that I've actually had a balance on a credit card... so I'm looking at this one of two ways

1) If I buy it now, I'm going to be paying interest...
2) If I wait, I'm probably spending $799 instead of $625... and I highly doubt I'll accumulate anything close to that with interest.

So if you're up for it Brady, I'll e-mail Rick and see if there would be a savings if two headers were shipped at the same time.

BTW, Dave... is there a "how-to" on installation of a header? I'd like to look it over to decide if this is something I want to tackle by myself... otherwise I'm going to beg you, or get a shop to do it

Hey, that doesn't look as bad as I thought it would. I think I may be able to do the install myself.

As another possibility, just for the hell of it though... if Brady goes with one too, maybe we could all get together for a mini "tech" day and do both cars at the same time? Just a thought...
