Default A Safeway along the way?

I'll be passing thru cowtown on Dec 5 on my way to Banff for some snowboarding on that weekend.

I remember last year, a couple of you suggested that I take Country Hills Blvd and then some road (forgot which one) which gets me onto 16 ave on the west side of the city to avoid the traffic lights and congestion on 16 ave.

Is there a Safeway and liquor store close together on that route?

No, but there are others. Do you like Superstore? The name of the forgotten road is Stoney Trail.

There is a Superstore, and now a Wal-mart (not sure if its open yet) just a couple of minutes past your left turn onto Stoney Trail.

There is also a "Sobey's" on Country Hills Blvd about 6 minutes off of highway 2.

Nah has to be safeway. It's a tradition that we buy those huge-ass lumberjack sandwiches from Safeway before we take off to Banff

If you must have a Safeway, go to the place where you came to meet us in Crowfoot for our drives. The Safeway is in that mall next to Rona Revy. I'm sure you'll find a liquor store in that mall too. Then you can take Crowchild to get to Stony Trail.

One would hate to doom a ski trip to mediocrity by starting off with the wrong huge-ass sandwiches!

Actually I have NOT bought those sandwiches yet. A few of my friends have whenever we go for a ski/board trip. They like making those sandwiches their breakfast/lunch/snack deal

But I think I will get one of those this coming trip, but I will make sure the deli people cut it up in quarters first
