Default Shipping car costs..

Hey Guys,

Can anyone recommend a car shipping company? Looking to ship my S2K from Edmonton to Toronto. So far the best estimate I've got was for around $900+tax.

I was thinking about possibley contacting some car-sale shops as I'm sure they do moves like this all the time. Any other suggestions or recommendations?

Thanks!

Don't know of any non-conventional methods, but that's an interesting idea find a dealership that's shipping a load anyway, and if there's space see if they'll cut you a deal

searail charged me half of what Hansen's wanted to ship my car from the US. Maybe the savings wouldn't be so great for shipping just in Canada, but i'd give them a call and see.

Searail shipped my car from Seattle to Calgary for under $500.

But then, they also put a mysterious 27km on it, plowed it into a curb in front of me, and refused to pay to repair the front bumper. They don't return my calls now. They also have a very very bad rating with the BBB.

I think most shipping company are a hit or miss. I've had good relations with Searail, my friend didn't but had good relations with hansen. However there is also bad ratings for both...

I paid around 1000 for shipping from portland to Edmonton. That involves trucking to vancouver then rail to edmonton. Anything that involves trucking will cost more, so I think that 900+ is a pretty good deal.

My shipping from Searail was $18xx but that was from Florida. I had no problems with them, except that the people in the Edmoton office were not very helpful. And they cost me another $80 in storage fees at the sufferance house because they didn't tell me a day in advance that the car would be going to the sufferance yard like they promised they would. Other than that, my dealings with them were very positive.
