Default Soon to be new owner!

Hey guys, long time creeper but soon to be official member! I am purchasing an 2005 GPW soon. Just some questions hoping you guys can help me out.
For a relatively new car, around 15000 Km, what should I look for when checking the car out? Now I know it's probably not a good idea to buy the car without actually doing all the test, however since the car I'll be purchasing is in the states, and I want it shipped instead of driven back... should I buy without checking?

Oh BTW, anyone has carfax that can help me check a VIN#?

Thanks a lot, hoping to cruise with you guys soon

Don't rely too much on a carfax. I crashed my S2000 in 2004 and all that shows up on the record is "suspension service" for that particular accident.

If it's an '05 with relatively low KM's, I wouldn't be too worried about the condition of the car. If the mileage is below 10,000 KM, I'd just make sure to change the fluids when you get it up here to give some peace of mind.

Not to spoil the fun but hopefully you are aware that there is no warrantee for USDM S2000s imported to Canada. If you are going to import a GPW from the US, you should consider one in Edmonton which is an 05' with 13000kms for $37000. Look it up on Canadatrader.com

Good luck hunting.

Yup I know there's no warrenty. But that's ok. Modding can't begin unless warrenty is over! Are you talking about the GPW one? I remember there was a 2005 one and they never replied back to me. They dont offer address for their company also. Now I went back to check and it's not there anymore. I'm getting a good deal with this US one, that's why I considered importing one.

Sounds good, I would love a GPW w/tan but too risk adverse to consider a USDM one. Look forward to seeing it at the future meets.
