a few stratotech track days here in Edmonton for sure and i would like to do a race city if possible.

If time and money allows i hope to head to seattle with definitive driving for i need some more seat time in my s2k.

perhaps some auto-x but to be honest i want to focus on track days.

Track days are nice, but I find autocross (and Secret Street in particular) to be much more of a social event. I guess it comes from spending all of 60 seconds on the track at a time, which gives you more time for talking between runs.

Also, track time is really hard to come by these days. So far, I have only gotten a single day booked at Stratotech.

Great, I'm glad to hear that there's interest in this stuff.

We'll do some more talking and planning as the spring comes closer and get a little schedule going with some events. If anyone has some recommendations for auto-x events already scheduled I'd like to hear em.

I've driven big tracks but never actually autocrossed myself! I think I'll get in on it this year. Time to put my camera mount to good use. I was out at RaceCity last year and filmed it but inadvertently zoomed in like crazy so the video is 4 large pixels and some great audio of the engine revving

For those that have never autocrossed before, the CSCC is putting on a novice school on May 2nd (evening) and May 3rd (at Penhold). Here's the forum announcement:

I'll be "testing and tuning", so I'll see you on Saturday if you decide to give it a go.

Here is a link to Speedway Performance, the guys who organized the track days at Stratotech last year. They promise more this coming season!

http://www.speedwayperformance.org

It was $85 per evening last time, and I loved it. Went twice, hope to make it out to more this season.

Maybe others can chime in in different regions, but I'm eager to get together a list plans for the spring and summer that will be here before we know it.

Specifically in Calgary (any other folks would be welcome, of course) what sort of things would people be interested in this year?

Some suggestions:

1) Group Drives
2) Local meets (ie Peter's Drive In last year)
3) Mod/Tech day for various bits of maintenance and small
4) Track Day (Race City, or elsewhere)
5) Group visit to the Auto Show

That's all I can think of for now but I'd like to know if anyone has some ideas of other things to do when the weather starts to get a little better.

Mike
man....why couldn't you be the TO CO. you would have been much better the our current one, which has gone mysteriously MIA ever since his stickied "next summer drive event".

Perhaps another thing to add to the list - Edmonton / Calgary S2k meet in Red Deer or Sylvan Lake?
