Default Trade Rsx-s For S2k

I know this is a long shot but I'll post anyway.
I have a Pearl White 03 RSX-S with a few aesthetic mods. Pics can be found here
http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4286378955

CF Type R Wing
VIS CF Hood
Replica JDM Kit
Eibach Pro Kit Springs

The car is on a four year lease and the first year has just passed. Selling the car would be difficult since the buyout is high, about $30K. A lease assumption could work out should a local S2K owner want to downgrade to an RSX, for whatever reason. This way I can attain a S2K that is most likely well conditioned and have a respected and qualified member to take over the remainder of my lease payments (I'm still held accountable but I highly doubt this individual would jeopardize their credit by defaulting on payments). After I will go straight to the bank, obtain the capital to purchase the S to complete the transaction.

If anyone maybe interested, PM me and we can talk more about it!

Sam

Sam,

Sounds like a good proposition if you can find the right person. My suggestion based on a few years/vehicles that have been leased is to wait another year and a few mos. The best time to return a lease if you must before term end, is appx. 2 years and 5 mos or so. This is when your buyout matches, give or take, the resale value of the vehicle, thereby saving you any negative equity you may incur at present.

My 2c, and good luck in any event!

Asif

Coming from a guy who dumped $25K over winter into his WRX to win a few trophies, only to sell and move away a few months later, what you talking about fool?! LOL .

Thanks for your input Asif, I'm going to look more into the liability requirements after a lease assumption is done. If the buyer defaults on payment, the original owner is still held liable. That isn't the main concern but credit file implications are most important. The last thing I want is to have the lease transfer completed and still have the contract show/remain on my credit file. This would severely limit my ability to acquire the second vehicle because technically, it would be three car loans on record!

If we count the full two years, you are probably closer to $40K, if not more! hehe

The kit didn't cost too much, I got a good deal on parts. Anyway, with the scorching weather and the legal ramifications on the lease agreement cleared up, in addition to the hours I'm logging at work, I can justify this purchase!

Yah I love Van-City too, I'll be there in five years hopefully!

You work at Honda, keep an eye out on good deals for me
naw i didnt spend that much...all together it was about 25K, I valued shopped everything plus i got pretty good deals from some retailers 40$ is crazy

there are a few s2k's on revscene selling for pretty cheap i think he's on here too...2000 black for like 32 or something with about 30-40k?
