Default Trunk Spring Removal

Anyone here know how to remove the trunk spring? I've read that you need a special tool to remove it.

thanks

A shorter closed end box wrench will do the trick just as well. All the special tool does is support the end of the spring so you can lever it out of its craddle and remove it. Slip the closed end of a 6 or 8mm wrench over the spring end and pry it out. Just be careful. Those springs do pack something of a punch!
