Default What did you do for Canada Day?

We took our dog around the downtown, following a pancake breakfast at the Legislature.

Went to armin's performance wednesday night.
Didn't get home till about 530am.
woke up at 9am, packed up food and juice and headed to emily murphy park.
Nobody else showed up till 1pm( and found me sleeping on the picnic table.)
Spent most of the day at the park.
Headed back to buddy's house and to a local park for a friendly soccer match. Polished off the rest of the food at his house, cut the birthday cake.
Slept like a baby and work today =(

Watched a wild football game - Riders and Als. It was a wild wacky game. Super hot and muggy. Fire works were in two sets. First was to celebrate the Rider's 100 anniversary, and then the second set was typical Canada Day.

Had a nasty storm last night, so I was up at midnight monitoring the situation.

Not a bad day.

Got a 3500 lbs Mastercraft Wakesetter stuck on the boat ramp in mud. Consumed several beverages while waiting for more buddies to lift the boat off the trailer and into the water.

Was too cold/windy to board so we then consumed hot dogs with some more beverages

Eventually wakeboarded on glass water at 9:00 with nice sun set in the background = epic

Drove home (sobered up at this point) top down with the heat on and went to sleep before fireworks!

Fiancee and I had planned to be in Vancouver for a short break, and Canada Day evolved into shopping trip in Washington state. Must have been a three hour wait at the border, but with our Nexus cards, we were through in about 20 minutes. First stop after that was my shipping depot in Blaine, where I picked up a bunch of stuff I had bought - including a set of 18" Carlsson 1/6 Evo wheels for the AMG. Went to Lynnwood as that has the nearest Nordstrom store - she wanted to see their selection of dresses as she wanted a new one for the wedding. Drove back up to Tulalip and hit the outlet mall. Saw many BC residents disappointed in stores not honouring their tax exemption - the whole month of June, apparently, retailers had promised extending Washington sales tax exemption to BC residents, but the matter ended up in the courts. Felt bad for them, but only for a second, as many retailers still honoured tax exemption for Alberta residents....ate Korean bbq at a small joint in Bellingham we found on the GPS, and crossed the border again and back to the relatives' place to sleep!
