winter tire pressures
Hi guys,
I'm currently running 36 psi up front and 35 psi in the rear. My Kumho KW15's can handle a max pressure of 44 psi. What pressure is everyone else running at?
The KW15 is the "high performance" version of Kumho's winter tire series. I chose this tire because of price, performance and our crazy weather (snow, no snow, slush, etc.).

OEM tires take 32 psi all around. You shouldn't go to the max pressure. That's just for reference.
Tommy, it sounds like you are probably about right for your car. I run 35 - 36 psi in the SO2's and I'm running 35 psi in the snows. Keep in mind that if you check the tires in a heated garage and adjust them there, by the time you spend some time outside in sub-zero temps, your pressures will be down a few psi. I usually try to put in a couple more psi in the winter. Too much and you lose some winter grip. Too little and you lose handling in the dry.
