Thanks, Paul, for the heads-up on James Canyon. There was some question as to whether it was fully paved. I'll take your rec on Coal Creek instead. As far as time, that may be a bit early. If alone, I'll probably take it liesurely and get up there around 9-10am.

Bash & Paul, Coal Creek Canyon and the Rollinsville area is a great drive. I lived in Coal Creek Canyon for ten years as a kid. (Golden gate canyon also has alot of great twisties.) Count me in, I would also be interested in the a.m. time and I am flexible on the exact time. Where and when should we all meet?

According to my map, the junction of I-70 and 72/Ward Road looks like a good area to meet. Although a little boring looking at first, we go out 72 to Pinecliffe, head north past Gross Reservoir and down Kossler Lake Rd to Boulder. Then through Boulder (perhaps lunch) and head up Lefthand Canyon to Ward, Colo. From there we can decide whether to go North to Lyons or South back 72 to Pinecliff and then back to I70/6th Ave and head our separate directions. Keep in mind I don't know the roads and if you know the area, we can just wing it for a bit as long as we don't end up in Wyoming. Time matters not. I know I'm going to be up late on Saturday so I'd prefer to meet around 10am and take our chances with traffic. I anticipate a hangover and I may have another car ('71 911) willing to join us as long as it's not too early.

I'd probably try and catch you at 72 and 93 rather than enter urbania. You know us Boulder folk really hate to enter the real world....

There is a park-n-ride area on the Southeast corner of that intersection.

I know not kossler lake road, but I don't think there are any paved routes from Pinecliff or Gross Reservoir back to Boulder without either backtracking down coal creek or heading up to the peak-to-peak and returning on Golden Gate/Boulder/Lefthand/etc.

Some nice dual-sport motorcycle routes, but I don't think we want to take the S2000's on a jeep trail or gravel road.

OK, keeping it simple... meet at Park & Ride, intersection of 72 and 93 at 10am. At 10:15 we roll north on 72 to Left Hand Canyon then down to Boulder for lunch, then separate ways home. Improvisation encouraged. Would that be a substantial enough mini-ride?

I will be there at 10:00 - but only with my virtual wife :-)

Someday we're going to have to get that sunset pic for Kwando...
