Default SMOG?

I'm curious as to what it would take to pass smog in CO. I have been living in SD and WY and may be moving to CO in the next month.

One of my cars has a custom turbo kit with no cat and no PCV system (1995 Monte Carlo, ecu is stock). If I replace the cat and plumb the PCV system back into the intake, what else would I need to look at to get it to pass?

My S2000 is running a stock cat, but has a turbo kit installed with an AEM ECU. I also have removed the PCV and air pump systems. Would I need to reinstall my air pump, plumb the PCV into the intake, and replace my AEM with the stock ECU?

Are there any towns around Denver without smog checks?

Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Tim

inspection is handled by a Air Care: 303-456-7090
AirCare is a private thing contracted to do the inspections.

matters of registration, title, vin, plates are done by the county office:
Adams conty=303-564-6010
Arapaho count= 303-271-8100
Jefferson county=303-271-8100
general state office ? 303-205-5600

Are there any towns around Denver without smog checks: yes but they are generally way the phuck out there, example Fort Morgan Colorado, you would need a POBox in Ft.Morgan 80701. i dont know what is the cryteria for a none inspection county, there is one tho.

emissions inspection: they will also attempt to access the OBD2 connector if any, inspect under the car, verify no ck engine lites etc

With the AEM it will have the OBD-II connector still but no datastream. They will simply not be able to connect so they override the system and look for a CEL and if it does not have one they pass it. I have passed a couple of cars with Hondata OBD-I ECUs in OBD-II cars. No problems. Tims may be another story though. At 12:1 with no cat he has no chance of passing under load

I have the stock cat on my S2000. I am even still getting a datastream from my second O2 sensor so I may be able to tune it well enough to pass... It's my Monte Carlo that doesn't have a cat and I can fix that pretty quickly.

I know Leadville (lake County) and Idaho Springs have no smog requirements. But... both are mountain towns. Either you would have to move there or "somehow" get the cars registered up there. Maybe get to know someone in the mountains that would not mind letting you use there address but good luck trying to do that.
