Default Things happen in threes

1) Windstorm in Boulder spews rocks at the S2K one early Thursday morning near mid-March. Result: new front paint job and windshield as of April 14th.

2) Truly reckless soccer player from the opposing team kicks my knee at 11:40 pm on Sunday April 13th. Result: fractured and crushed tibial plateau followed by lots of pain :-) and then surgery, screws, retaining metal plate, more pain :-) and no driving for the next few weeks, all of which lead to S2k withdrawal symptoms, which are even worse than pain :-) Yucchhhh...

3) Company decision to close the Broomfield office and my decision to not accept the relocation offer to Toronto. Result: heading off to the UK for a while to help grow a business that some friends own, with plans to return to Colorado in ~ 2 years to develop a US division. Big question now is do I i) sell the S2k, ii) keep it in the garage on blocks or iii) ship it on a Roll-On / Roll-Off (RO/RO) ship to the UK. The thought of parting with the S2K is awful, but I'm wondering if it's not the most practical option...

Am probably heading Eastward around mid-May - so a get together / drive before then would be great (assuming I can even drive by then :-( ). Maybe another Cinco de Mayo event?

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. The rock storm must have been bad to do that much damage.

The knee injury sounds like it hurts a lot.

And i am in the same boat as you as far as work goes. My company has decided to relocate to El Paso, TX. YUCK! I have the oportunity to move out there and basically choose my positions (due to my knowledge and experience) or stay in town and try to transfer.

I really want to get out of my current department, been doing it for 5 years now. I need a change, but don't want to leave the company.

If it comes down to it, i will move out there for a few years. Sell the S2K, yes... I know.

Problem is when i come back i don't know if i would stay with another S2K or get a STi or EvoVIII.

Decisions, decisions...

Bummer times three!!! I hope your knee heals up quickly, and yes, a drive is in order before you go!

As for the car, I say...SHIP IT! There have got to be some great roads in the UK.

Being a LHD, you may need to look into the legality of it...

Best of luck with the knee - that's not a short road to recovery. Who did the recon work?

Clutch leg or accel/brake?!

Man that sucks. Hope everything works out ok.
It would be a good idea to get a meet going. It would be cool if we can get a big group like last year.

So sorry to hear about your knee! Hope you have a speedy recovery...

As for the S2000. Lots of neat cars available in the U.K. that you can't get here. I'd say sell it, then treat yourself to a nice Lotus Exige or Elise.

Maybe even a TVR.

Or a Vauxhall VX220 Turbo!

NP with LHD but I would need to make some mods: change the diffusers to white, put in a fog light switch, etc. I'm not sure if I need the high-pressure headlight washers. I think the HID lights are left/right neutral so I don't think I would have to replace those.

Paul is right though - there are some pretty cool cars over there. My list:

- Aston Martin V8 (yeah, dream on...)
- Caterham 7 Roadsport
- TVR Chimaera
- MG TF

Decisions, decisions, decisions, ...
