I haven't seen most of you in a while, but thought I would give you an update. I am still alive, but I'm not in the Rockies very often. Today, I picked up a new 2007 Saab 9-7X. My S2000 and Monte Carlo will be remaining in South Dakota and this will be my Tulsa/Oklahoma City ride. My fiance is in Tulsa, a lot of my work is in OKC, and my parents and all of my stuff is still in South Dakota.
The Saab has the 300 hp 5.3L Gen IV V8. I needed a daily driver and thought that I would also get something that can tow around my other two cars (6500 lbs worth) and has a warranty. I chose it because I like the GMT360 platform and this is the nicest one of the bunch. It's not the most powerful (the Trailblazer SS is), but because it's a GM small block V8, the upgrades are virtually unlimited. Power is easy to fix; HID's, a quality interior, good suspension, good brakes, and sound deadening are not. As a bonus, I got it brand new for over $10,000 off of MSRP. Here are some pictures.
getting married tim? congrats on the engagement. when is the bachelor party. next time you are in denver, let us know and we will go out to dinner again.
Twin turbo is possible, though right now I'm leaning to the Magnacharger. It's just too simple and makes too much power. Turbos are hard work! There is 0% chance that it won't be boosted. Based on what I've seen, it may be the first boosted 9-7X!
I got engaged June 2- the same day she graduated from Med School and became a Dr. It was a pretty exciting night!
I hope to catch up with you guys again some time. I'll let you know when I make it back to Denver.
