Carbon Trunk Oxidizing...
Hey what's going on guys I have a carbon trunk that is starting to oxidize.. It's not bad at all right now but getting a little cloudy.. I could just re-buff it with some compound kind of like doing the headlights again but don't want it to start again down the road.. will prepping and clearing at a body shop help for a longer finish?
Even wet sanding will be a short time fix, The gel coat these parts have have crapy UV blockers and they give out after a year or so. the best way it to have the hoow wetsanded from 600-800 and then have it recleared. Even a low quality clear will have better UV qualitys than a gelcoat.
