Default Ceramic coat or PPF

Hey guys,

Not sure if this has been debated yet. I just got an 06 S2k and it came with typical chips and scratches for its age and mileage. Once I do some paint correction I'm debating if I should go PPF or ceramic coating. I do like that PPF can protect against minor rocks in the future but it can leave some visible lines and other side effects

Just some background in case it helps the decision, this car will be kept in the garage it's whole life under a car cover (when clean) and will be driven mainly on weekends and for fun

Would love to hear your guy's thoughts!

all day long, PPF. Ceramic coat does nothing or virtually nothing for stone chip protection. now, you can PPF and ceramic coat over top for that just waxed look.
I PPF all my cars.

Thanks for your input. When you PPF, did you PPF the entire car or just the front bumper, hood, fenders and side mirrors?

PPF requires maintenance. Has to be replaced every so many years and if not, causes irreparable damage to paint underneath.

I would also seek out looking at cars with PPF already installed to see the visible lines that you will always see because wax, dirt, etc is always building up against the edge.

Newly installed, you can’t beat the look, but to me it doesn’t age well.

Can the plastic bra (PPF) be installed on the front bumper and spoiler? Seems like a lot of compound curves. This is the only part of the car I've found any visible stone chips and there were so many I had the bumper refinished before installing the spoiler.

A good quality ceramic coat may not totally protect from stone chips but the added overall protection to the paint in general is outstanding with even minimal maintenance. Also enhances the shine and really brings out any metal flake.

Yes exactly my thoughts which was why I am on the fence about it. But the roads where I live are not the best so rocks and chips are inevitable.... Lots of semi trucks drive on the highway near me so the roads get beat up bad especially when it rains

a professional won't have any issues. I am not a professional, but have done enough of these that my job is about a 6/10...steep learning curve for sure.

Are you referring to a rear spoiler or a spoiler on a front bumper?
