Find a high temp black paint and spray the muffler body. Mask everything you dont want to get paint on. If you want to do a proper job, it would involve taking the muffler off the car and prepping the surface. If you are going to do this on the car, you are going to want to maybe scour the surface and degrease beforehand.

Any hardware store has patio grill paint in a rattle can. Gas grill, etc. As in any paint job the preparation is paramount.

Thanks for the replies! 100 grit sandpaper should be good enough for scouring, yeah?

I have always had good experience with the VHT high heat paint. 100 grit or even a little higher should be fine. Make sure you clean it off well before painting.

Just clean it so paint will stick. You won't see any imperfections when it's painted flat black. Acetone works well.

Easiest way to clean this would me media blasting.

A bucket of sand and a cheap sand blaster$35 on Amazon. Drop the exhaust and whale it with some media(obviously not in the exhaust) and it'll be good to paint in a few minutes.

After sanding wash the area with soap and water and let it air dry. Before painting you should use Prep-All which will help the VHT paint stick better.
