Default Circle on paint from antenna

Anyone remove their antenna and have a ring like this?

Think I can claybar or polish this away? Or would it require a repaint?

Don't mind the water marks it was raining .

I think that will come out using common paint correction/scratch removal techniques.

As RPG51 said, scratch remover and even automotive polish will remove that. Visit any store that carries auto detail supplies and you'll find a bunch of different products. For future reference, the typical rule of thumb is that if you drag your thumbnail over the scratch and you can feel it dig in, it may be too deep to remove with traditional compounding. However, compounding and polishing can remove (or at the very least significantly reduce) most surface scratches, scrapes and scuffs. Let us know how it works out.

sorry guys didnt see this! Thanks for the advice.

I think I could remove it with V36 and V38 from Chemical guys that I already have. Light abrasive polish. I think its just clear coat damage and I can't really feel it with my nail. If that doesn't work I could use a more abrasive compound/polish like v32.

That being said, I am getting a brand new rear OEM bumper in the new few weeks, and theyre doing some paint work so I'm just going to have the antenna hole fully plugged and painted at the same time. The whole panel will be repainted so I'll leave the ring for now.

The antenna cap you are looking for is part number: 82871-671-000

Amazon Amazon

It's a 25mm rubber grommet. The antenna is easy to unscrew and remove with the right tools. I bought snap ring pliers on amazon specifically for the job and it was a breeze. Few minutes at most. Then you just unscrew the antenna base through the right side of the trunk. It's bolted to the body.

I was originally hunting for something of a similar size that I could paint, but any antenna delete plug is somewhat bendable like rubber to seal the hole, so you won't be able to paint it. Still, the rubber grommet looks better than the antenna by far.

Thanks very much!

You probably can't really PAINT IT like you said.............but you could probably wrap it in vinyl!(wheels turning)

nice idea, i like that.

If I wasn't just going to get the whole panel painted I would do that. I want that shaved look though.
