Probably need more details. Same color? How much prep are they doing? Pulling panels? Location? A user here is documenting his color change process. I think they mentioned cost around $5-6k (cant remember). They pulled panels and are doing a lot of prep.

wow thats crazy, unless you are doing the R34 midnight purple or something expensive. I wouldn't pay more than 3k for oem colors.

I personally believe no S2000 is worth a complete paint job -- the car won't drive or perform any differently. But that's me. I love my S2000 but since she doesn't love me back (no car does) I ain't spending $6000 on the ______ just to dress her up.

I been shopping around and the quotes I been getting start at 4500 and up which is crazy and that minimal body work/same color. But I've learned when it comes to paint and body work...you get what you pay for.

Well if someone wants to keep it for a lot longer and there are paint issues that could lead to rust (or rust that could lead to lots more rust) then it is worth it to that person to paint it. So it is irrelevant if some do not think it is worth it and it is a case by case thing.

Back to the OP, the amount of repair, and the area you live in (shop rates) highly plays into this. I would think $4500 - $8000 is reasonable considering these things. Now, if you go to someone that does full resto and show quality paint jobs you can spend a lot more. But I have seen people get mild rust repair and a better than OEM but not as good as show car finish for $5,000 before on similar cars. It really varies a lot, but check it out well and do not cheap out. You get what you pay for in a paint job!

I am headed for full respray (OEM Silverstone) here in Orlando, FL and have BASF quality paint as spec, starting bid from two shops here within the past week was $6k and up. All panels and trim removed, documented and such.
