Default Damaged Bonnet

Hi guys, it's my first time post and I'm sorry to say it's not for a good reason. I purchase my car a few months back and have been doing a few jobs getting it to an acceptable standard. During this process I removed the damage bonnet latch and ordered a replacement. Fast forward to today, I grabbed the keys and decided to go for a quick drive. It doesn't take a genius to work out what happened.
Looking for some advice on where to go next as the replacement is around £500. Thanks in advance.

Did the hood pop back and hit your window?

It did, window seems fine though as well as all the surrounding panel. So annoyed, it was such a stupid thing to do.
I've reached out to a number of salvage yards in the hope of getting a match but I haven't been able to find one yet. Even if I get another colour I'm looking at £500 to paint match, I think this may be the only option.

It's going to be hard to find one at a breaker since a lot of accidents are front end collisions but that is likely going to be your best option along with a respray. That is an awesome color on that car so I hope you can find a solution soon. I always feel for people who have unfortunate things happen to their cars.

Count yourself lucky if this only costs £500. Amazing color that needs to be matched.

Yes true I seem to be finding this. I might use it as an opportunity to clean up the front bumper.

Fingers crossed, my part of the country is pretty cheap on labour so shouldn't be as expensive as one of the bigger city's so I may get lucky

Try to find a front end nose cut in the same color.
Would this be the color?

I emailed him asking if he would split the hood for you, but then youd be dealing with international shipping. Maybe you can get a good deal on something like this.

Thanks for that Jon really appreciate you taking the time to look. For now I've added a carbon bonnet, 18 year old me loves it, 35 year old me hates it. I'll stick with it and keep an eye out in flea bay

No worries man. I like to see things work out for people. OEM hood that requires no bodywork and is a simple color match would be cool, but an OEM hood already in the same color is even better. Where are you from?
