My s2k came with this weird aluminum grill in it so I pulled that yucky thing out this weekend. Now I'm left with an open pathway to the radiator. No oem grill or anything.
Do you guys have any suggestions for protecting the radiator? I love the look of the open front bumper. So I'd like something as subtle as possible.
Also the aluminum grill that was in there has a dent and I cant seem to bend it out so painting that one black and reinstalling isn't going to look good either.
I have a grillcraft grill
They will make it just about any color you want
This picture is from about 10ft away.
Most people do not like it until they see it in person.
I sucked up a bird one day and had this grill installed the next week.
I have the silver race-style grill cover from Grille-Tech. I originally had black, but wanted something different and not as stealth-looking. Thinking about switching back to black.
However, if you don't have the OEM grill inserts, I'm not sure how you'd go about mounting an aftermarket grill cover.
Just to let you guys know, both those grills severely restrict airflow to the radiator. I used to own them. They caused my temp gauge to rise in the summer beyond normal. Since then, I looked up a sheetmetal company that actually provided specs on their mesh material, and found a nice mesh that has 95% airflow.
If you ever see your temp gauge hit 4 bars (ap1) you know why.
Hmm, that's too bad about the airflow. The first 2 grills posted look nice.
The problem with the one I had was that it was not only highly reflective but the mesh wasn't very fine at all. It was like look at me!! I want to be an intercooler haha.
LOL on sucking up a bird. I had that happen in the RSX . I took the bumper off a couple months later to find a mess of "something" stuck to the inside of my bumper
