Default Hard Top Questions

Hey everyone, I was wondering if any of you that have or are familiar with the hard tops could answer a few questions to help me decide. I'm looking into getting one and probably an ebay special like this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...#ht_3226wt_1084.

Does anyone have something similar or the carbon fiber ones?

I'm wondering what are the interior of the hard tops like? Do they look nice, have material, or what?

Do the after market ones fit nice? I don't want any ugly gaps or leaks and such.

What's the install like? Do you need a lot of experience to be able to do it yourself?

Any help would be very awesome. Thanks in advance!

I have grave reservations dealing with Ebay, I would prefer to see the item in person prior to buying. I have heard the Octane top is of decent quality, but when you include the cost of shipping + the hardware/glass you are within a few hundred of the OEM factory top.

I have the OEM top and the fitment and hardware is great. I am not sure about the interior finish on the Octane, if it has no soundproofing expect a lot of road noise/heat.

The interior will be just the FRP or CF. Nothing else. I agree with VanishingPoint. If you are going to go aftermarket I heard VIS was the next best thing. Otherwise OEM or Mugen.

octane motorsports cwings hardtops are related to chaser aerodynamics, and they have bad fitment.

stay away from cwings/chaser aero

OEM is the way to go. Interior has a vinyl covering with hard plastic trim. No hard to install but will requires two people to do the install quicker and have the extra hand to place HT on the car.

Cool thanks for the response guys! I kinda figured OEM would be the best way to go. Now if only I could find one that would cost me over 3K!
