what is the difference between oem hardtop vs forbidden oem hardtop. Not material. Shape? Is identical in appearance?

Sure but that won't guarantee perfect fitment.

But I assume that will at least help to get it as close to an oem seal as possible?

It won’t hurt, the seals themselves are definitely higher quality

The OEM has black trim around the windows as well that is not on any of the reps and cannot be added to the reps. It is pretty easy to visually identify a rep from a real hardtop.

once you add up the price of the glass, seals and hardware you might as well have bought a used OEM hardtop
