Default Moonrock over silverstone?

hey guys,

after some extensive vandalism to my car, (my00, silverstone w/ red/black int) aka keying body panels etc the car is going to need new paint. However, i dont really like silverstone on my car. I love the look of moonrock metallic, would it be possible or would it look alright to get it resprayed moonrock? i doubt the insurance will cover a full paintjob including door jambs and engine bay etc only the exterior, so my main question is, would the car look strange with silverstone door jambs and moonrock exterior? i dont know if this has ever been done before. ive seen a few cars with different colored engine bays but never door jambs etc

thanks

If you like the color you should do it. I had MY05 painted MR. It was originally SS, door jams shouldn't cost that much more. Talk to the body shop and see if they can have the insurance cover it for you. If not, I would guess it would be $75-$150 a side and it would be worth it. As far as the engine bay I left mine SS, you will hardly notice it. I will post some pix for you sometime this week.

in for the pics as this is a way that I'd go if put in the same situation with my SSM.

Curious as to what that cost you? I've always wanted a white s2k and since I have black I could probably leave the engine bay to save $$$ without it looking like crap.

to be honest guys, i dont know the cost. I had hail damage which was over $11,000, so my insurance covered it and I ask my body shop to paint the whole car except engine bay. He even lowered my deductible
