Hey guys
Me and my dad run a auto repair shop. I recently bought myself and 2001 s2000. We are nearly done with it but i dont know how to paint it. I wanted to do some kind of design or something. The base color needs to be yellow however. Can you guys give me any ideas?

 

IMO, multiple colors of paint and graphics on street cars is out. However, a friend of mine has a yellow Corvette and he had a very light coat of orange pearl sprayed over the entire car. The car is still yellow but shines orange in the correct light.

could put a silver pearl in it, would give it a rainbow sheen when you look at it in the sun, but will still have the yellow base. Hmm, Im not very fond of putting colors on top of yellow as I never really liked it much, I love blues like MCB or Apex blue or even the bmw light blue, not sure the exact name. Also the Cadillac hot rod red is one of my favorite reds on road, painted a Chevy 1500 the cadillac red and a silver top with flames merging the two with gold inbetween, had a silver pearl which made both of them SHINE in the sun! so its really whatever you want but i'd stick to something that looks dec. like a yellow pearl, silver pearl, maybe gold flake and gold pearl. Just an Idea:/ Used to be in the autobody business too, miss it alot! got my S with alot of dents and stuff and im almost done of getting everything out and just doing it out of my parents garage when I get time I want to repaint mine MCB tho when I get done with all the fixes

 

Yeah. the yellow Pearl seems nice. I was also thinking about just leaving it yellow and Painting the Hood black. Then putting Some black rims on it?
My hood has vents like the picture below. So i dont know if i should paint the hood black or not. Also if i did paint the hood black should i paint the trunk to match or no?

A car with a hood that is painted black looks like someone who cant afford carbon fiber or replaced their hood but cant afford to get it painted.

 

Add me as a friend on facebook (Stephen Arneson) and you can see my two tone I got going on, granted it's not yellow its sebring and BB, but I got BB front and rear bumpers and hood and trunk, I also have a picture with just the hood black with my sebring bumpers on it too so you can get an idea and yes paint the trunk too, it evens it out
