Default New front end

Well my car got hit the other day in the front. The fender, bumper, and headlight rail/mount is messed up.

I'm about to meet the other person's insurance agent so they can cut me a check.

Now here's the deal...

Either I take it to a shop and have them fix it as it was and the agent will write another check if they need to charge more for the work..

Or I can buy parts myself (still being forced to have a shop fix the headlight rail thing because I can't do metal work) and go with aftermarket fenders and front bumper like amuse or even the mugen one. Of course with this option there will be no more money added since a shop isn't going to call the agent and say "Hey this requires more labor hours!".

What do you guys think? Is option B being dishonest??

Thanks everyone

I'm tempted to get some OEM style carbon fiber fenders. maybe even vented.

I think it will look nice with the red car.

Here in California we have what's called "Right to Repair" Basically, that means we're allowed to have our car repaired at the facility of our choosing, regardless of where the insurance company wants it done. If you can get a body shop that will work with you, option B is definitely doable.

On another note, we carry an Amuse AND a Mugen style front. Let me know if either interest you and I can get a quote going.

AMS(Amuse style):

Type M (Mugen style):

Thanks for all the replies everyone. There is a slight complication as of now. The original estimate from the insurance agent is really low. The body shop will need to contact them and say it's going to cost more in order for them to send another check (which the insurance co. will).

Anyway, I need to talk to the body shop owner again and present these options. He love's the car and seems to be a cool dude so I don't see why he wouldn't work with me.
