Default Plasti Dip Rims with Oxidation

I currently have the stock rims with some Oxidation that I was hoping to Plasti Dip. I did some searching and found some people who dipped them as is and turned out OK, but some people said to sand first. Any recommendations or pictures with dipped rims that had oxidation?

Thanks!

agreed, you're going to want to sand it a bit.

I didn't sand mine when I did this. I just cleaned with dish soap and water then windex. Maybe sanding gets it really smooth but it is a temporary coating anyways.

Do you have any pics?

What grit sand paper is recommended for this?

I can't find the other pics I had. I had the center caps dipped with a red H sticker as well but my pics are gone. I will try and dig more up.

Here is what I am starting with... Any advise on sanding or grit paper? I was planning on taking each rim off and scrubbing clean first.

I did this on my ap1 stocks before i got new rims. Mine were in about the same shape as yours. You're over thinking it lol. I just washed mine and let them dry good in the sun for a few hours. Its plasti dip.. not permanent. Make sure you use enough layers or it will be hard to peal off. Mine lasted for pretty long through power washes and cleanings. When one of mine started to peel, I was at school and didn't have the time to peel it and what not, I resprayed the spot that peeled and it was fine.

Just wash them and spray away. If you're not happy with it, sand them if they ever peel.
