Rear bumper
Took the wifey shopping and while we were shopping, some idiot hit my right side rear bumper while trying to park in the spot next to me. Luckily I parked right infront of the store or they probably would of took off! How much do you guys think they'd charge for repairs and paint? I called honda and their going rate for labor is $46/hr. I just want to see in what ball park I should be looking to get from their insurance company so I don't get low balled!. Also, is a alingment needed because I don't know how far he went before stopping and realizing he hit me. Thanks Fellows!

Honda quoted me for bumper and total repairs $1,284.35. Another shop didn't want to quote me because they didn't know the extend of the damage from just looking on the outside.. Lower quarter panel damage and so on.. said to be more than $2,000. I'm glad it's not coming out of my pocket or policy. I just submitted a claim with my insurance so we'll see what they say.
Find a good body shop -- check your regional subforum and don't just assume that Honda = good when it comes to body work. If additional damage is found then the shop can get the amount adjusted with the insurance company. As for the alignment, the only way to be sure is to have it checked but it's probably unlikely unless it was hit with a lot of force or from just the right angle.
If you submitted a claim to your insurance it certainly is your policy and you may (impossible to say for certain if one accident like this will affect your premiums or not) be paying for it in the long run.

I just thought I'd be on the safe side. What do you guys think? My buddy told me not to contact my insurance company too and just handle it through theirs.
I know this is kind of off topic but does any one know if a thief claim decreases your car value? My seats were stolen last year and my insurance company paid out a comprehensive amount of $7,500 to cover the cost of a soft top and seats.
Now my question is since I received $$ for the comprehensive claim, will my car have diminished value due to thief?
I want to claim Diminish inherent value for the most recent accident and I just want to know what I should and shouldn't be asking for as far as (DIV)that goes.
Any insurance experts want to elab.
