The thought has crossed my mind a few times, but I haven't had the chance to throw something together, but has anyone seen and/or made a sacrificial metal plate on the bottom of a front bumper/lip? I'm rocking the J's half bumper and it catches on driveways and speedbumps even with a mild drop. I don't want to upgrade to something nicer (i.e. more expensive) until I find a way to combat this issue...
just wondering if this would be a decent idea...

Yup, you might try searching for "lip protector." I believe there are a couple of vendors who make them but I can't recall which ones specifically.
