Default Soft top paint

Just wondering if anyone painted their S2K soft top before.
My top is really nasty looking, I scrubbed with brush but no help..
I am thinking paint the whole top with Dupli-Color Vinyl & Fabric spray paint and just want some opinion from your expertise.

Can't comment on painting an entire top, but I've touched up some patched areas with Plasti-dip for some customers before. This was applied over RTV/silicone filler after patching through the inside and it came out looking really good. It seemed to hold up well until they could afford to replace their top all together.

Few options from what I know.

1. Buy some good cleaner & protectant, Raggtop comes to mind. 303 makes a good protectant, but their cleaner is mediocre in my opinion. Scrub it very thourougly and dry by hand or let it dry in the shade, then liberally apply protectant and see how the results look.

2. Look in to SEM fabric/vinyl paint. This method will involve taking off the softop and cleaning it very thouroughly and letting dry for 24-48 hours in a covered location away from dust, etc. I've heard of people using black shoe dye, but honestly I have no idea. I've heard of a product called "Back to Black" as well. Could also check out http://www.foreverblack.com/. There seems to be multiple options. After painting/dying you'll need to let it completely dry before washing and applying protectant. I would let it dry for a few days to be safe.

Pictures are gone, but see this topic. https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/728...n-maintenance/

3. Go buy a new soft top, most expensive option, obviously.

I've never done #2 or #3, but I do have extra time at work and the ability to Google.

There are a number of threads on Forever Black that you might want to check out as well.
