Default Split in hood...will it leak inside?

Elderly 1999 S2000 (still under 20,000 miles on the clock!).....the hood has split in the two usual places...down at the pivot point just behind the door windows. Financial constraints make replacement questionable. My one concern (and which would divert funds towards a new roof) is if water will leak into the actual car itself, rot the carpets etc.

Any advice very welcome.

TIA

Picture? You could use a bit of body filler on the underside of the hood but I'm not sure if it will last

Am I able to upload photos with only posts under my belt?

I did have in mind using duct tape.

I think when he says hood he means soft top, strange. Buy some old soft top patches on here, apply some e6000 adhesive, and just to be on the safe side you can sow the corners of the patch. Tape won't do it.

Might be worth contacting the soft-top guys over here to get some patches.

Oh okay that explains it. I was just clarifying it for spoiledap1 cause he thought you were talking about your hood. I didn't want you putting body filler on your soft top lol

I got by with a RTV type silicone rubber patch for a couple of years. I think it had a small piece of fabric on the inside. Eventually I did replace the top with a fabric Robbins top.

At the time I bought mine Tops Online was the best source:
