Default Touch up paint drying time

Hey guys,

Just after some help with the drying time of touch up paint. I applied some overnight onto a few panels. How long does it need to be dry enough to touch or wash the car?

Thanks

I have used OEM touch up paint before, and it seemed to dry up fairly fast.

Maybe give it a full 24 hours or so before touching it or putting any water on it, and you should be fine.

OP's location says Australia, if it's winter here, it's summer there

Perhaps the paint had drying times noted on the can (or tube)? But alas posters here will give a much better answer then the manufacturers of the paint. Usually 24 hours to dry and 7 days to wash.

The way paint dries is when the solvent in the paint evaporates out and leaves the paint. Therefore if it's hot it dries fast cold and takes longer. That's why when you blow on it, it starts to flash off. As soon as it's flashed off its dry and you can wash your car and do whatever. And if you do it to early all you have to do as add more no big deal. Not going to hurt the car. If you mess up wipe it off with lacquer thinner
