Default 2002 ABS HELP...

I need a new driver side rear abs sensor...my axle was just installed on that side and the code from the reader said it was that side that was making my abs light stay on. Should i try something first before i buy a new abs sensor or should i just buy one...and if i buy one should i just replace the part thats attached near my rotor or should i do the wires with it also? any help is much appreciated

Are you sure you need a sensor and it's not just junk stuck to the old one. Since work has just been done it seems that many times after work the magnetic sensor is covered in metal shavings etc. Also could it just be misadjusted?

I will try these steps before I buy anything. Will disconnecting my battery for a hour change anything?

I have seen this a lot. Metal filings from a worn pad collect on the sensor. Check it for obvious debris first. And no, resetting a car's ECU takes 5 minutes, max. The ABS ecu won't clear a code on its own, I don't believe, like an SRS code won't clear without doing something.
