Pretty sure no brake. Whenever I get my car aligned, I sit in the car the whole time for weight purposes. At no point am I ever asked to apply the brakes during the alignment.

Brake pedal is supposed to be applied the whole time during alignment before doing caster sweep till completed. This is so wheel with sensor mounted doesn't turn throwing off accuracy.

Yes. I'm a Certified Technician. Front wheels are on turn plates, so would it bind? No. Brake pedal is applied to keep front wheels from moving/rotating any during caster sweep. If wheels move. Accuracy is thrown off.
