Default AX6 Pad Problem

I installed new rotors and Carbotech AX6 pads and bedded them in. I've been around s2000's with these pads before and I know they make noise under slight braking. My problem is they're making noise while driving while under zero braking and I don't remember that happening on others. I'm just wondering if anyone has any input on this and maybe how I could fix it. Thanks in advance!

Check that the guide pins aren't tweaked and lubed properly and that the piston isn't binding

If the piston is binding and tough to retract then maybe you might need a rebuild kit

If the guide pins are tweaked then it will restrict movement.

If the guide pins aren't properly lubed they can seize from the friction

I have had these pads on mine for 2 years now. They have gone through about 5 autocrosses and 2 trips to the dragon and they were great. They squeaked during light braking and that was about it. After the most recent autocross, they started squeaking whenever the wheel was turned. I hear them squeak whenever I am in a low speed turn without applying the brakes.

Yeah, that seems more normal to me. I do like these pads, I had them on my miata before. I autocrossed yesterday and now they just squeak when I'm just cruising in a straight line.. I know that's not right. I just re compressed the Pistons and greased the guide pins better. About to see if that helps.

If anyone has experience with this problem, let me know!

I feel like it has something to do with the transfer layer. Mine make a slight squeak only able to be heard if next to walls or buildings sometimes. Sometimes not.

Do you think I didn't bed them in correctly? I did the above steps and it's still happening...

mine dont squeak unless i brake

that being said the squeaking has gotten so freakin high pitched that i cannot wait to take these pads off......and the massive amounts of brake dust they release doesn't help either

I installed a set just before going to the dragon last April. A friend told me that after I got them bedded in you should put them get them hot. I run SOS "j" hook rotors and they do squeak with the j on the rotor surface. Are you running OEM rotors? Good luck with AX6's
