Brake Light
Hi all,
Was hoping I could get some help with the brake light that is on the dash. I did some searching and tried the following, but the light is still on.
Moved the floater in the brake fluid reservoir -> Light still stayed on. Fluid is at the Max line
I disconnected the clip that connects to the fluid reservoir -> Some have said if that turns the light off then it helps resolve the issue
Tightened the e-brake from 12 clicks to 9 ->
I also checked the sensor under the e-brake. I cleaned it with a q-tip (dry) thinking that the amount of junk over the past 14 years might cause it to malfunction or stick. Not the case. -> Noticed that when the e-brake is engaged vs not engaged the dash light stays on, but the brightness changes
I am out of ideas of what else to try to make the light go off. Had the same problem in my other hondas and it was either the pads needed to be replaced, or the e-brake needed to be adjusted. Some people have mentioned on here the alternator can make the light go on for the brake. Is that true? the rear pads are low, but not squeaking or anything.
Thanks all!
