Brake setup for Boost?!
So I'm planning on boosting the S, I looking to be in the range of 500-550whp.. Im running all stock brakes on my S which is a 2001. I've searched around and came up with alot of people running better fluid, stronger pads and better rotors. But what about calipers, I see alot of aftermarket brands out there that seem good.. So now my question is, I want to find something with minimal brake dust, something that bites strong and wont fade or SQUEAL!! squealing will annoy the shit out of me.. I don't mind seeing some suggestions for BBK's but I'm looking for function here not blinged out calipers.. Im also interested in keeping my stock calipers if I can.. So what pads, fluid, rotors and lines should I go with to hold up to some 500whp braking.. I dont track my car but I do drive very aggressive on the street.
at 500-550 whp you better make sure your on a pretty open road. it's pretty easy to run out of road lol i would suggest stainless steel braided lines, some dot 4 brake fluid (higher boiling point), some 2 piece rotors ( I recommend SPEED ENGINEERING), and finally some hawk hps or hp+ pads. you should be set
Your best bet is upgraded fluid, stainless steel lines, new OEM/OE blank rotors, and maybe a better pad than OEM (~Hawk HPS+). The stock s2000 brakes are very capable, and you will never come close to overheating them on the street (unless you drive like a complete asshole). A BBK likely won't make any noticeable difference on the street.
Super Blue or Motul fluid
Centric Premium Blank Rotors
Hawk HPS+ are solid
A few vendors sell quality SS lines.

HPS+? HPS are teh suxorz, way way WAY worse than stock. HP+ are a big improvement over stock and have a higher c.f. than just about anything I've run, but dust and squeal like crazy.
Street usage? OEM pads are going to be fine unless you're doing downhill mountain runs at speed.

With that much hp I'd consider a stoptech BBK, especially if you ever plan on tracking the car or doing aggressive canyon driving.
Otherwise, if you want to stick with stock calipers, get Carbotech AX6 pads, something like the SOS Speed Engineering rotors, and high temp brake fluid.

At 500 to 550 HP you need atleast what SPETS said plus steel flexable brake lines. A stage 4 clutch and so much more. Your car will be a nightmare to drive on the street as your rear wheels will want to brake loose with every shift. To me 500 + HP are left for the drifters. My 2000 is pushing 320 and it gives most cars a run for their money (on the track only) Just saying.

Completely disagree.
