Yep, you're right on both those points. We generally don't condone mods that defeat the purpose of what this car is all about.

Owns 3 S2k's but doesn't have a keyboard with a shift key

Try typing out an intelligent question if you expect an intelligent response. Also know that people aren't being mean if they give you a response you don't like.

To the OP: Just a general statement here, and this might be taking it a bit too far, but it's what I've noticed..
On these forums, you WILL catch shit for being original. You WILL catch shit for not doing your research before asking questions. You WILL catch shit if one of the purists thinks you're ruining your car. (The forum consists of 98% purists) And everyone on this forum is very helpful in their own ways. You got your answers within the first two posts, so stop crying. Also, it doesn't matter how many anything you own, there's always someone around who can top you. I would suggest to you to get off your high horse and take every reply with a grain of salt. We aren't all on the same page, but we generally get along quite well. We just have a funny way of "suggesting" things.

Well you inspired me to add to this. Probably half the people on this website have gathered by now... that I generally do some things my own way aka "original" and I am by no means a purist, however I enjoy performance... and if you cant effectively convey why you have done something in a different manner then a "majority" ...then you will get some expected shit. So if gaining some general respect of your peers is important to you (which is rather the whole premise of being part of a club unless your masochistic) you better get smart about what your doing that's "different" or be really good at articulating or bullshitting why. Nothing in the "hellaflush crowd is different, at least not anymore ironically, nor is it in a way that fits into the principals of being different I work under. To each their own, but if being different is faddish, then it isn't really being different, nor is it based in any substance like performance. This is the biggest distinguishment I see between club enthusiast here. And sure there will always be a small percentage of "purest" but they hide out in their own corner generally, or are on S2kCA lol. The vast majority of us I think fall into a pretty accessible and acceptable category, but for our own broad reasons, many are knowledgeable because they emerge themselves into the performance aspect of this car, and always willing to help. Imagine what kind of knowledge base and help people would get on this site if it was a majority of hellaflushers. The site would fade with the fad along with whats left of any of the remaining cars.

That is very true. I've been to the dark side, and now I'm back. I don;t think the hellaflush movement is stupid or bad in general. But for our cars, it's terrible. If you want to slam a roadster with ridiculous camber, go buy a Miata. I've been exponentially happier since I went with a non-staggered meaty setup with close to stock alignment.
