changed brake pads now squeaking

Default changed brake pads now squeaking

Changed my pads the other day and now there is squeaking on the front right brake, is this normal after you just change? or should i get a new brand?

firstly what brand did you use and what compound within the brand ?.

Secondly did the pads, pins, and caliper surfaces get lubed upon installation. These are the most common issues leading to brake noise.

they are wagner thermo quiet ceramic. and i did not lube anything :/

If you don't put some silicone grease (Sil-Glyde or eqivalent) between the brake pad backing plate and the shim behind it, you will likely get some squeaking. Some brake pads (on other cars that I know of) come with the shim pre-lubed.

If you didn't add the grease, you can always take them off, grease them up and reinstall them. Hopefully you didn't toss the shims when you put the new pads in.

no i put the shims on there already back on, does this harm anything though, or can i keep it squeaking? i kind of like it haha
