Default HAWK HPS

So im replacing my rear pads. My car is turbo so I wanna upgrade the pads. Im doing a BBK in the front in the next couple months but right now the rears need replacing.

Car is a daily so want a pad that bites better than stock but doesnt wear as quick and doesnt squeal.

Been offered the Hawk HPS at a very good price. Anybody running them? Someone mentioned they dont fit properly and rattle a bit. Some say they squeal, others say they don't.

What's your guys experience with them.

Worst pads I've ever experienced. Less bite and softer pedal vs. OEM on the street, totally unusable at the track, infinitely less trackable than oem pads (which are NOT good track pads). Stay far away...

LOL I knew ZDan would be the first to post

I am running the HP+ now, and although they squeal pretty loud, they bite pretty well. Why do you feel you need a BBK? Or is it just for looks?

I've gone with ebc redstuff. I did see a number people disliked the hps hawks.the other uprated hawks like the hp plus and blue had decent reviews.I'm going with a bbk cause I was offered a set of 6 pot calipers for next to nothing so I may as well use them!

That's not necessarily the best reason! Is it part of a specific BBK? Or are you just getting the calipers, and fabricating a custom mounting bracket? What is the brand? Also, are you aware you'll need spacers or aftermarket wheels to fit a BBK?

Yeah I've got the spacers and the brackets have been fabricated already. It will be a custom job for sure but I'm hoping its gonna work well.with the right pads, fluid and those 6 pots I'm sure its gonna work well.

The brand is called praggia.they were a local brake company that supplied brake setups for a lot of track cars that raced here locally.

I'm going to agree the HPS pads (which I JUST put on last night) feel softer than the OEM's. Bite is down for sure which sucks big time because that was definetly 200.00 down the drain. I'm hoping that with use everything will firm up but they are definitely nothing spectacular. Wish I went with HP+.

Those pads should take a while to bed in so maybe you judging the pads a little too quick if u only put them in last night.give them a 100 miles or so. I'm sure they will improve. But yes general consensus is they no better than oem!
