help me for coilover
hi guys, i recently replace the rim from stk to CE28
From 16inch to 17ich.
The problem is i was driving with 16inch with coilover fitted, i was safisfied with stiffness and lowness. but when i put 17inch rims, obviously suspension had been rasied up and looks not aggressive and stiff enough.
so i lowered the coilover(it does not touch the fender- 10mm gap) however at cornering, it rubbing, probably spring is not stiff enough
therefore i decided to change the spring pre-load. Am i right to go to change the spring pre-load to fix the problem or do i have to change to stiffer spring???

I have the exact same Volks on my car running Bilstein PSS9 lowered to about 1 finger gap all around. With the stock fender liner and no tab modification you will rub sometimes if you run anything wider than the stock Bridgestone RE050 fronts. Even my 215/45/17 RE11 fronts will rub a little because they are wider than the OEM tires. So 222/45/17 will rub unless you make changes.
I wouldn't recommend changing spring rates unless you want a stiffer ride.
Try modifying the fender liner and tab first, see where it's rubbing and melt or cut the plastic liner. Raise the car a little next, add camber if needed. I'm not a fan of rolling fenders but if done by someone with a lot of experience I've seen some good results.
