I want to get slotted now just reead up on brakes. Are stoptechs good brand? just saw them listed for $180. will neeed new pads well. Oem pads work?

I would go with stoptech street pads. They are cheap, quiet, have a high MOT for a street pad, and have greate bite and modulation. As far as rotors go, if you like the look of slotted then go for it. Otherwise any cheap blank will be more than great and will be a fraction of the price.

Or if you're not tracking the car then the most efficient option would be to simply resurface your current rotors and buy new pads depending on how much pad you have left.

As long as you're over the minimum thickness on the rotors you'll be fine. You can autocross on resurfaced rotors just fine as autocrossing wont put nearly as much heat into the rotors as doing a track day on a road course. Also since you do plan on autocrossing then I would upgrade to the stoptech street pads since they can handle about twice the heat as the oem pads.
