Default Lowering a CR? Sacrilegious?

What are your thoughts on putting springs on a CR? Now I am talking about a high quality, mild drop, spring like the swift.

I have always had good experiences with Swift springs in the past, on other cars, when my goals decided against coilovers.

I would think with the swifts mild drop, obtaining factory alignment specs wouldn't be an issue.

Thoughts?

coilovers only...don't blasphemy the CR by just dropping it on springs alone.

Coilovers are not an option.

2 options are:

Leave it alone
Swift springs

Like I said I have used the swifts in the past, when I didn't want coilovers with good results, and no diminished handling, but am also not opposed to just leaving it.

Those are pretty much the only spring I would even remotely consider.

um it seems kinda silly to spend more money and buy a CR and not spend the money required to mod it properly.

Just cut your springs, that way you are still all original cr parts

why not just get ground control sleeves. 400lb front 350lb rear. those are pretty much CR rates (392, 342) and you can adjust it to whatever height you want. keep the drop mild so you dont lose too much in suspension geometry and you should be good.

Swift Spec R springs should do nicely.

Leave it alone-- unless you put a good amount of money into it, you'll most likely make it worse.

The Swift SpecR would be the perfect mild upgrade to a CR. Given the CR's more aggressive valving. And the specR spring rates, I think it would be perfect. The SpecR's are 7.5k fr and 7k rear, just slightly stiffer than the CR.
