Default Lowering and rake ... How does it affect handling?

when lowering some will lower the car evenly while some will give it the hotrod look or the prerunner look.. How does this affect The handling of the car and is there an optimal rake setting for the s2000?

Rake helps the car rotate better. Its mostly driver preference. Just like you can change rear sways or up the rear spring rates, you can add rake (or take it away) to get the car to rotate more or less.
